Frequently Asked Questions

Your Treatment: What to expect.

Sessions can be booked for between 30 and 60 minutes depending on your particular requirements. Your treatment will take place on a comfortable massage couch, where you will be covered with towels at all times; only the area of body being worked on will be exposed, ensuring complete privacy.

Before you have your treatment your therapist will carry out a consultation with you. This is important as it provides an opportunity to talk through what you want from your session, whether it is to reduce stress and anxiety, pure relaxation or pain relief for an injury.

    FAQ #01

  • How does Aromatherapy work?

Aromatherapy is a safe gentle complementary therapy that can be adapted to suit all states of health and dis-ease.

Aromatherapy involves the use of essential oils extracted from aromatic plants to support and enhance health and well-being. The blend of oils and carrier oil are individually selected for you based upon your consultation with your therapist.

Each essential oil has its own fragrance, therapeutic properties and chemical make-up. A professional Aromatherapist is aware of these chemical components and is able to create a blend of oils whose natural ingredients will act together, to bring about a beneficial range of physical, emotional, spiritual and psychological effects on the body.

Essential oils can be applied through bathing, inhalations, compresses and massage. An Aromatherapy massage applies essential oils, diluted in a carrier oil, to the skin to be absorbed into the bloodstream. (Essential oils are powerful and concentrated, they should never be applied to the skin in their undiluted form.) Essential oils are also absorbed when inhaled through the nose. The lighter molecules of the blend are inhaled and act on the olfactory bulb, located next to the emotional centre in the brain and the naturally occurring chemicals of the essential oil are drawn into the lungs and can also supply physical benefits.

Can I have a treatment if I am pregnant?

Yes after 12 weeks you can have an aromatic pregnancy massage.

Where can I have my treatment?

Your treatment needs will be discussed with you when you make your initial appointment. Your therapist can visit you on site at work, at home or can arrange for you to attend a local holistic therapy clinic for your treatment - whichever option is most convenient for you.
